Are you looking to lose weight? If you are, you may also be looking for a little bit of help. Plastic Surgery is often performed to improve one’s physical appearance, but there are certain situations in which it could actually be a lifesaver. These situations often involve those who are overweight.

One of the most sought after cosmetic procedures performed is that of liposuction. Liposuction is designed to remove excess fat from the body. Often times, specific “problem,” areas are targeted. Common areas on both men and women include the underarms, the thighs, and the abdominal area.

See our before and after pictures of liposuction.

If you are interested in undergoing liposuction, it is important to know that you may not necessarily get to. Quality cosmetic surgeons, namely the ones you will want operating on you, have strict standards and qualifications for candidates. These typically include those of the age of eighteen, those in good health, and those who have the desire to lose weight. Good health and the desire to stay on a healthy path is important so that complications do not arise.

Want to know if you qualify for liposuction? Call our referral line for more information.

Unfortunately, those who are obese aren’t always good candidates for liposuction. This is because only a small about of fat can be removed at once, as there are dangers to removing too much. Also, those who are obese are likely to have diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems. These all increase the risk of complications. If you are obese, there is good news though. You may be a candidate for gastric bypass surgery or another similar procedure, like the Lapband. You can call us for free information about these procedures.

In addition to assisting with weight loss, Plastic Surgery can also be used to help those who have lost a significant amount of weight. If you had a large weight loss, like 100 pounds or more, you may have a lot of excess skin just, literally, hanging around. This may make you feel unattractive and scared to show off your great new body. It is ironic when this happens though, as one of your weight loss goals was to look good. Plastic Surgery, as previously stated, can provide you with assistance. You can receive a full body lift, unless you have specific areas you would like targeted. Although there are a number of side effects, including pain and discomfort, you will likely be pleased with the results.

As a reminder, not everyone is the perfect candidate for Plastic Surgery. The first thing that you will want to do is find and choose a cosmetic surgeon or surgery center in your area. Thankfully, we are here to assist you in making the right decision. When you call us, you will have the procedure explained to you and we will help you decide if Plastic Surgery is the best option for you.

Having puffy nipples is an issue which is commonly associated among females, however men who have them can be embarrassed at their condition as well. Although this is a common occurrence at puberty, many retain them into adulthood, and some males even develop man boobs or gynecomastia. While the condition can be quite discomfiting, it is relatively harmless it is superficial in nature, and is usually brought about by lifestyle, hormonal caused by natural circumstances or from the use of steroids.

Gynecomastia is a condition of excessive fat buildup on the male chest area, resulting in breasts and nipples which are notably feminine in appearance. It occurs to more than half of all adolescent boys, and to over thirty percent of adult men. Although the breast swollenness is harmless, its appearance can look anything from a slight protrusion to a full female-breast semblance. Puffy nipples can happen alongside or in spite of the swollenness, but it can be corrected with surgery. The usual causes of gynecomastia include a reduced testosterone production, the intake of hormones like estrogens and androgens, prescriptions (like eplerenone and phenytoin), and in some cases, physical conditions like liver and kidney conditions, and genetic abnormalities.

Whether gynecomastia surgery is intended to reduce the prominence of the nipples or to correct man boobs, sculpting the entire chest area is necessary in order to achieve proportionality and a more pleasing aesthetic. To correct the prominence of the nipples, two kinds of tissues are removed during the surgery: the fat deposits which rest behind the nipples, or the inflated glandular tissue. The surgeon will either remove the fat deposits through liposuction or remove the gland with a scalpel; he may also employ both techniques if the condition is caused by both types of tissues. It is a minor surgery with minimal incision; the entry cut is made around the areola of the nipple, and the scar resulting from it is practically invisible, being concealed by the areolas dark pigmentation.

The correction of puffy nipples through gynecomastia surgery can be as brief as two hours, and the recovery period usually lasts for only two days. Once the patient recovers from bed rest, he is made to wear a special garment (a compression vest) in order to guard the incisions, reduce breast inflammation, and to protect the stitches from undue pressure. The vest is hardly noticeable beneath normal clothing, and may even have the appearance of a body shaper.

The cost for having gynecomastia differs, and is dependent on the surgeons proficiency, area of operation, and specialty. Those who specialize in male plastic surgery will require lower fees than those who are into general plastic surgery, and a surgeon who is relatively inexperienced with the procedure will also charge for less. It is thus important that the patient considers the surgeons experience and skill when choosing to have gynecomastia, the surgeon should be able to provide a portfolio of previous patients who have undergone the procedure, and it must include photos of the improvement for up to a few months after surgery. The final scars should hardly be noticeable, and the chest region should be sculpted proportionately the results should matter, and cost should only be a secondary factor in selecting a surgeon.

One of the more popular plastic surgery procedures involves breast enlargements. Let us take a closer look at the type of procedures available.

Enlargements are often thought to be the most popular form of plastic surgery. In truth, it is the third most popular procedure and covers more option than most people consider at first blush.

The procedure is technically known as augmentation mammaplasty. It involves the placement of an implant into both breasts for the purpose of enlarging and shaping the breasts. The earliest form of this procedure was undertaken in the 1860s in Germany with fatty tissue from the body used to perform the enhancement. As time passed, silicone implants became the implant of choice, leading to one of the most contentious debates in medical science. Ultimately, the silicone implants were banned in 1992 by the Federal Drug Administration. Improved design and further medical research has led to the reintroduction of some silicone implants and the FDA is considering approving further models.

There are several techniques used in enhancements and you should discuss the best option with your plastic physician. Nonetheless, the options are sub-glandular where the implant is placed in the body of the breast, sub-muscular for small chested individuals where the implant is placed below the musculature, and sub-fascial where the implant is placed between the muscle and outer fascial. The specific procedure is dependent upon the pre-existing conditions each person has.

A second issue that you need to keep in mind is the type of incursion technique. Specifically, where will the surgeon create an incursion in the body to put the implants? The axillary approach involves creating an incision in the arm pit and bringing the implant in from the side. Peri-Areolar involves an incision around the lower half of the nipple, in a semi-circle format. The Infra-mammary approach involves an actual incision into the lower flesh area. The incursion technique should be discussed carefully with your surgeon, particularly as it pertains to scarring issues. Incisions result in scars, and even tiny ones have to be taken into account.

The decision to have enlargement surgery necessarily involves a lot of choices. we are here to help you with those choices. Call us for free information on about your next plastic surgery procedure.

Breast enlargement, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that enhances the upper body contour of a woman who is unhappy with her small breast size. This is perhaps the cosmetic procedure that the public is most familiar with.

Search our list of breast augmentation doctors to find a qualified surgeon now.

Breast enlargement is done by having an implant placed through an incision, under the breast tissue or under the muscle. The incision can be made under the breast, around the nipple or under the arm. A breast implant is composed of an outer silicone shell filled with saline or silicone gel. The outer surface may be smooth or textured, and implants come in various shapes to meet the individual woman’s needs.

When the implant is placed under the actual muscle of the breast, there is a lower chance of contracture–contraction of the tissue surrounding the implant–and mammography is more reliable. There is also less risk of visible or palpable implant edges. The down side is that there are some people who believe the implant has a more natural appearance when placed above the muscle, under the breast tissue.

The shape of augmented breasts depends on the implant. Implants can be round or teardrop-shaped (anatomical). The choice depends on the look the female wants to achieve. Anatomical implants produce a gentle slope, resulting in a fuller upper area, whereas round implants create a round curve in the upper part of the breast. Another factor to consider prior to surgery is breast width, which determines the amount of “cleavage” between breasts and the outer curves.

Realistic expectations are important. Some women often think of breast size in terms of bra cup size. If an“A” size wanted to be a size “C”, then there still has to be adequate existing breast tissue coverage: otherwise there could be visible or palpable implant edges and other possible risks.

This is a major procedure, and someone undergoing breast augmentation absolutely needs someone to drive her home and stay with you for 24 hours after surgery. There will be pain the first few days, but normal pain pills should take care of this as the body adjusts to the new implants. Wear a bra at all times (except when showering) during the first 2 weeks after surgery. Avoid heavy lifting and avoid even moderate exercise for at least the first week, and then only moderate exercise. During recovery, the breasts will be somewhat swollen. Within a few weeks, the actual shape and size will be evident, and the full success of the procedure will come abundantly clear.

Unfortunately, those who are obese aren’t always good candidates for liposuction. This is because only a small about of fat can be removed at once, as there are dangers to removing too much. Also, those who are obese are likely to have diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems. These all increase the risk of complications. If you are obese, there is good new though. You may be a candidate for gastric bypass surgery or another similar procedure, like the Lapband. Your primary care physician may be able to help you determine which surgery you are the best candidate for.

Use our site to find a Liposuction surgeon.

You can receive a full body lift cosmetic procedure, unless you have specific areas you would like targeted. Although there are a number of side effects, including pain and discomfort, you will likely be pleased with the results.

As a reminder, not everyone is the perfect candidate for Plastic Surgery. The first thing that you will want to do is find and choose a cosmetic surgeon or surgery center in your area. Find a plastic surgeon now >> You can then schedule a consultation appointment for yourself. At this appointment, you will have the procedure explained to you and your surgeon will help you decide if Plastic Surgery is the best option for you.

Before proceeding too far, it is also important to examine the cost. If you are without health insurance, you will have to pay for the full costs of your surgery. Even if you are insured, you may still be responsible for the cost. Most cosmetic procedures, like liposuction and the removal of excess skin, are not always covered. See our plastic surgery financing options. With that said, gastric bypass surgery and other similar procedures are about more than just improving physical appearance, as they can often be a lifesaver.

Are you unhappy with the appearance of your face? Do you have scars, problems with acne, or is your face starting to show the early signs of aging? If so, you may be curious as to what all of your options are. Despite the fact that you do have a number of different treatment options, many men and women in your shoes opt for plastic surgery.

So, should you get a plastic surgery facelift? Of course, there are a number of factors that you will want to take into consideration when determining so. There are, however, signs that you will want to look for. If these signs, five of which are outlined below, apply to you, a plastic surgery facelift may be in your best interest.

1 – You Are Getting Older

It is no secret that our skin changes as we age. Unfortunately, these changes aren’t always pleasant and attractive. Throughout the course of your life you may have developed small scars on your face. These can be taken care of with plastic surgery. Although there are a number of reasons why you could undergo a plastic surgery facelift, wrinkle treatment is the most common. It is important to remember that just because you are getting older in age; it doesn’t mean that you have to look like it!

2 – You Are Embarrassed

Are you embarrassed by the way that you look? Although every single individual is beautiful in their own way, that may not help to change the way that you feel. Those who undergo plastic surgery facelifts often have the sole goal of improving their appearance. Whether you are depressed with the signs of aging, if your face is saggy-like after a large weight loss, or if you just want a change, a plastic surgery facelift may be an option for you to seriously consider.

3 – You Have Already Examined Your Other Options

As nice as it is to improve your appearance by undergoing a plastic surgery facelift, it is important to know that you do have other options. For example, scars or marks that resemble stretch marks can also be removed with laser surgery, as opposed to actually going under the knife. There are also a large number of over-the-counter products that are designed to help reduce wrinkles and slow down the signs of aging. Although surgery does produce quicker results, especially when compared to over-the-counter products, plastic surgery does cost more money.

4 – You Have Had Bad Reactions to Over-the-Counter Products

As it was previously stated, there are alternatives to plastic surgery facelifts. One of those alternatives is over-the-counter skincare products. There are products that are designed for scars, acne, and wrinkles. Another sign that a surgical facelift may be in your best interest if you have tried a few of these over-the-counter products without success. In fact, have you had bad reactions to these products? Some consumers end up with even more skin problems, namely a bad case of skin irritation.

5 – You Want Results and You Want Them Now

Of course, when you undergo a surgical facelift, it is important to remember that you do need time to recover. Both your body and your skin in particular will need to rest. When that rest and recovery time has ended, you should be able to see immediate results. Laser surgery often takes multiple sessions and over-the-counter skincare products need to be used for months before results are seen. So, if you want to improve the appearance of your face and see results right now, a surgical cosmetic facelift should be examined.

The five above mentioned signs are just a few of the many signs that a plastic surgery facelift may be in your best interest. As a reminder, there are dangers that are associated with surgical facelifts, including pain and discomfort. Even with the possibility of painful side effects, many men and women, just like you, find that the pros outweigh the cons.

Tummy Tuck Costs

Majority of people who delay tummy tuck do so because of the cost factor. The cost is high and usually between $5000 and $9000 for a tummy tuck performed by a qualified and skilled surgeon in the Fort Worth, Texas area. The cost depends upon the reputation of team you hire, length and complexity of the procedure along with the ancillary costs associated with the tummy tuck. The various factors which are effective in determining the cost for a tummy tuck are:

1. Surgeon’s Fees: the cost may depend on the tummy tuck surgeon’s reputation. More skilled and experienced, the more expensive.
2. Medical Tests cost: tests you need to undergo, before the actual operation, to be declared fit for the operation.
3. Operation Room Fees: a mild shapeup can be performed within a surgeon’s operation theatre while a major tummy tuck has to be performed in a hospital.
4. Anesthesiologist fees: depends on the team you are hiring in Fort Worth, Texas.
5. Room/bed cost: If the tummy tuck was lengthy, complex and the surgeons believe that you have to be kept under medical supervision you’ll have to pay for the room/bed fees as well.
6. Post surgery cost: expenditures on post surgery medical prescription and specially designed compression garments.

A tummy tuck is more affordable today in Fort Worth, Texas due to a number of reasons. First and foremost is that most of the surgeons are offering some financing options.
Tummy Tuck Surgery Recovery Process & Time

After your tummy tuck in Fort Worth, Texas, you will rest in a recovery room, or you might even be admitted to a local hospital overnight. Either way, your physician will be monitoring you as you come out of general anesthesia, or the local anesthesia wears off. You will then have swelling in the abdominal area, and it will be sore. After that, you will be given antibiotics and painkillers to assist in your tummy tuck recovery process. It is important that you tell about any allergies that you have and any other vitamins, herbs or medications you take so that the medications prescribed for your recovery will be right for you. And as with all antibiotics, it is very important to take the full course of medicine, as prescribed.

Once you are released, most physicians will prescribe two to three days of bed rest. While they may seem like three very long days of resting, it is critical for your tummy tuck recovery that you follow your surgeon’s instructions very closely. If possible, have a friend or family member stay with you for those initial days at home so that they can help you and keep an eye on you as you if complications occur. You will also receive personalized instructions on medication, compression, elevation and rest for your recovery period. Your surgeon might even be able to give you advice on ways to minimize scarring.

After your initial tummy tuck recovery period, you will slowly be able to return to your normal activities. Your level of fitness will ultimately determine how long your tummy tuck recovery takes. For many people, it takes about 6 months for full tummy tuck recovery. After your initial few weeks of recovery, your plastic surgeon in Fort Worth, Texas will prescribe a diet and exercise routine to follow for optimal tummy tuck recovery. At any time, it is important to call your surgeon’s office if you experience excessive pain, swelling or bleeding. The office will be able to make suggestions, or schedule an appointment if necessary.

After your recovery is complete, scar tissue will continue to fade and your abdomen will have the flat and tight look that you desire. Great results are typically visible about 8 months after the operation, so patience is important.

Tummy Tucks Surgery and Scarring

Tummy tuck scarring is fairly common after having the operation. The traditional tummy tuck procedure commonly involves making a fair cut horizontally across the lower abdomen area from hip to hip. This incision allows cosmetic surgeons to access the underlying abdominal area, where they can remove fat, tighten muscle and get rid of excess skin in the abdomen area. Often times, this procedure can require other areas to be cut and realigned such as the area around the navel or belly button area as well. All of these cuts can, and will, leave scarring to some extent in patients.

Luckily, most successful tummy tuck scarring is usually positioned below the waistline where bathing suit bottoms and underwear cover the scar from view. Some people are still upset by the idea of purposely inflicting a large mark on their body, but it really becomes an issue of weighing them against the excess skin and fat in the area. Additionally, your cosmetic surgeon is not a miricle worker. They are precisely trained to provide you with body enhancements and not large disfigurements. Plastic surgeons will do everything possible to minimize scarring. Realistic results should be expected.

So, should your abandon the idea of undergoing abdominoplasty because of scarring? It is a decision that only you can make, but you must only make the decision when you have all of the facts. In this case, the facts mean sitting down with your plastic surgeon and reviewing pictures of other patients. The surgeon should have before and after pictures of tummy tuck patients. You can view their tummy tuck scarring and ask your plastic surgeon to identify the patient pictures that represent what he or she believe will be closest to yours.

Tummy tuck scarring may appear like a serious matter to many, and they are for some people. The key is to make an informed decision with after viewing before and after pictures. For most people however, the trade off is far better than the undesired buldging belly that will be replaced with those flat abs that can be achieved.

Many New York Liposuction experts contend that while liposuction is obviously not the first option when it comes to reducing fat, sometimes exercise and diet are not enough, and there are some stubborn areas of the body that require more drastic measures.

Men and women tend to store fat in different areas. Men often put extra weight around their love handles and abdomen while women tend to gain it around their thighs and hips. Liposuction Manhattan, New York clients mentioned that the procedure provides selective removal of fat and therefore sculpting the body in ways not possible by other means.

The Brazilian Butt Lift

If you’re born with no bottom, the Brazilian Butt Lift just may be the cosmetic procedure that you need. The Brazilian Butt Lift is actually a very simple procedure. A doctor will take Liposuction fat from one area of the body, and shape a new bottom by injecting the liposuctioned fat into the buttock area.

The Brazilian butt lift itself is an exciting new plastic surgery option getting popular with Manhattan, New York Butt Lift customers. In Manhattan, Buttock Lift and Liposuction combination is often preferred. And ideal for the person that desires to have fat removed in certain areas of the body.

Can a person regain fat in areas that were Liposuctioned?

Most commonly the answer is no. This is because fat only gets deposited into fat cells. Because Liposuction removes fat cells from the areas that were suctioned, new fat cells will be deposited in other areas of the body. This is not a big issue unless a person gains significant weight. The tighter and more elastic a person’s skin is the nicer and smoother result they can expect with Liposuction.

Liposuction can be performed all areas of face, neck, chest, abdomen, flanks, back, arms, buttocks, thighs, calves and ankles.

With rhinoplasy being the second most popular plastic surgery procedure performed in 2004 (according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons), nose surgery is moving from the realm of the rich and famous into the homes of regular people like you and me. Now that this procedure is more accessible than ever, it’s only natural that you will be exposed to a lot of information about it – some true, some doubtful, some downright false. In this article, we’ll try to address some of the most popular misconceptions surrounding rhinoplasty.

1. Every plastic surgeon can do a rhinoplasty surgery – Technically, yes. Most plastic surgeons will have rhinoplasty on their list of performed procedures. However, that doesn’t mean that every plastic surgeon can achieve good rhinoplasty results. Rhinoplasty is a challenging procedure, both from a medical and an artistic point of view. A plastic surgeon must have a thorough understanding of the internal anatomy of the nose and the workings of the respiratory system, so that the reshaped nose is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also fully functional. Since the nose is such a major factor in our face’s overall appearance, the plastic surgeon also needs to have a strong sense of artistry, to create a nose that fits beautifully with the rest of the patient’s face. Check out our list of qualified rhinoplasty surgeons by clicking “Find a Surgeon”

2. Rhinoplasty is motivated by vanity – Despite the widely-held belief that people get nose surgery solely for cosmetic reasons, it’s not uncommon for this procedure to correct breathing problems (e.g. a septum deviation) in addition to enhancing the appearance of the nose. At the same time, it has been established that in patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their nose, having rhinoplasty may lead to a physical and emotional transformation that will enhance their self-confidence and ultimately their quality of life. From this perspective, the effect of rhinoplasty is comparable more to a therapeutic treatment than a selfish gratification for the patient’s vanity.

3. Rhinoplasty is painful – Unlike other plastic surgery procedures like breast implants or tummy tuck, rhinoplasty is not usually painful. Most surgeons perform rhinoplasty under general anesthesia, so you will be fully asleep and will not feel a thing. After the surgery, you will have a small nose cast for 7 to 10 days, during which you will most likely feel congested, as if having a cold. The area around your nose and eyes may be swollen and bruised (especially if your nasal bones have been reshaped); however, the overall discomfort you will experience after the surgery is minimal.

4. Everyone will notice you had a nose job – If your nose requires a major change – like removing a large bump – people around you might indeed notice the difference in your nose. However, if your nose needs only a refinement of the bridge or tip, chances are the perceived change in your appearance will be less dramatic than you anticipate. After all, nobody is as intimately familiar with your facial features as you are, so making a minor change to them may not be very obvious to the outside world. Also, keep in mind that a good surgeon will avoid providing you with an “operated-looking nose”, and instead will strive to achieve a balance between your reshaped nose and the rest of your facial features, so they naturally complement each other. Plus, people perhaps already notice your nose; that’s why you are considering the surgery for it. In a lot of cases, people never notice a nice looking nose.

5. Rhinoplasty will get you the nose of your dreams – While having rhinoplasty can dramatically improve the appearance of your nose, there are certain limitations to what a plastic surgeon can do, based on your given bone and skin structure. At the same time, there is a chance that you won’t be fully satisfied with the results of your surgery. Statistics show that between 10% and 15% of rhinoplasty surgeries require a secondary procedure, to either enhance or correct the results of the first. This is sometimes due to the nose healing and developing in ways that the surgeon cannot predict or control. In other cases, the patients’ dissatisfaction with the final results is due to poor communication with the doctor about the intended outcome of the surgery. However, this occurrence is an exception rather than the rule, since most patients report to be happier with their physical appearance after the surgery than before.

So what is the key to successfully achieving the nose of your dreams? Going back to point one – it’s carefully researching, selecting and communicating with a qualified surgeon from our list! How long has he or she been performing nose surgeries? What is their surgical accreditation? What does their safety record look like? Take a good luck at images of his or her rhinoplasty patients – does their reshaped nose measure up to your idea of beauty? Can you picture your own nose looking like that? If you do, the next step consists in ensuring that both you and your surgeon have a very clear understanding of what you expect your nose to look like and what is attainable from a medical point of view. Armed with good knowledge and a positive attitude, you’re on your best way to achieving a more attractive and confident YOU!

Check CosmeticSurgeryService.com list of surgeons. We offer before and after photos for many doctors.

One of the most saddening congenital deformities affecting children all over the world is the clef lip and palate. Thanks to modern technology, we can now fix these problems with cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, but in third world countries, many children still go without this kind of help. A cleft is a separation in the body’s natural structure, and is caused on the face during gestation. A cleft lip and palate occur in about one in 600 to 800 births and are also called hare lip.

There are three different types of cleft lip. The unilateral incomplete cleft lip looks like a dent in the upper lip that does not reach the nose. It is also sometimes called a partial or incomplete cleft. If the dent reaches one nostril the cleft lip is known as a unilateral complete cleft. If it reaches to both nostrils, it is known as a bilateral complete cleft lip. If this does not extend into the mouth, cosmetic surgery is what is needed to fix the condition.

A cleft palate is a bit more of a serious condition. In this case, the two plates that form the skill in the hard palate, or roof of the mouth, do not completely join. Again, there are three kinds of cleft palates. The incomplete cleft palate is only a problem within the mouth and does not reach the nose. The complete lip and palate clefs reach the nostrils and are either unilateral (reaching one nostril) or bilateral (both nostrils). If this occurs, a combination of surgeries is needed to fix the problem. Usually, surgery can be done immediately after birth, but most doctors prefer to wait until the baby is ten weeks old so that he or she has time to recover from the birthing process itself.

Cleft lips and palates form due to both genetic and environmental factors. They are most prevalent in Asian, Latino, and Native American races, but can affect any child. Cosmetic surgery can really help these babies. Not only will it form a more normal-looking face, but it will also help with the various speech problems a child will have if trying to learn to speak with a cleft lip and palate.

If your baby has a clef lip or palate, you should talk to your doctor about the options available to you. In most cases, this surgery can be covered by your medical insurance, and it is definitely a good idea to help your child. Many successful people were born with cleft lips and palates, so surgery can really help.

Chemical peels fall under the classification of cosmetic surgery because they use strong chemical solutions to cause the skin to peel to new layers below. Why would anyone want that kind of a surgery? In the end, the new skin grows back to be less wrinkled or blemished, so it is a procedure that many aging women prefer. Although some chemical peels can be purchased and done by almost anyone, it is preferable to get your chemical peel done by a professional plastic surgeon or dermatologist to make sure everything stays safe and your skin ends up looking the best it possibly can. There are a few different types of chemical peels.

One of the most popular kinds of chemical peels is know as an AHA Peel, or an alpha hydroxyl acid peel. This is the mildest form of the chemical peels and works by using carboxylic acids, like the glycolic acids found in sugar cane or lactic acid, found in sour milk.–no, milk will not work by the way. Many people use this kind of acid mixed with facial wash or creams in lesser-concentrated forms as part of a daily skin care plan. When you use this acid in its concentrated form, is can reduce fine lines and uneven coloring, smooth rough and dry skin, improve your skin’s texture, and help battle acne. You may need multiple treatments to get the results you desire, and after each treatment, you’ll experience stinging, redness, and mild irritation for a few days.

Another popular kind of chemical peel is the tricholroacetic acid peel, in which the chemical is much stronger than in an AHA peel. Usually, concentrations of 20% to 50% are used, with concentrations above 35% being most rare because there is the risk of scarring. This kind of a chemical peel is used for smoothing fine lines, removing blemishes, and correcting skin discoloration, especially for this with darker skin pigmentation. As with the AHA peel, the treatment takes several days to heal, and you must use special care with skin products to maintain the results.

The strongest type of chemical peel is the phenol/croton oil chemical peel. The improvements on a patient’s skin when using this type of a chemical peel are drastic and long lasting in most cases, and a single treatment is all you need to get the effects you want usually. This type of chemical peel smoothes out deep wrinkles, removes precancerous growths and blemishes, and corrects any kind of blotches on the skin related to sun exposure or aging. It also permanent removes freckles in some cases and has been known to permanently lighten the skin. Because this procedure is so drastic, you’ll need protection from the sun for the rest of your will have to allow for several months for it to heal.

There are other kinds of chemical peels available as well. Talk to your dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon if you are interested in learning more about how these chemical peels can work for you and your skin.

The rhytidectomy, or much more commonly known as a facelift, is a cosmetic surgery specifically designed to restore a more youthful appearance by removing major obvious wrinkles and sagging skin from the facial area. The procedure involves tightening of the facial and neck muscles, as well as actual removal of any excess skin. In doing so the patient should find his or her appearance to be several years more youthful than before. In some good cases, a patient may look as many as ten years younger!

The skin naturally begins to wrinkle and sag as a result of age, sun exposure, and genetics. Children and young adults have smooth, round faces due to evenly distributed tissues in facial contours. Over time, the skin sags and folds. This is particularly occurs around the chin, jaw line, and neck. Not only does a facelift improve facial appearance but also has a dramatic effect on the chin and neck, enhancing the patient’s profile. Though as dramatic as the end results are, unlike several other types of cosmetic surgery, a facelift is not a simple procedure, and requires anywhere from one to two weeks of rest to make a full recovery.

This is a procedure that does actually demand some work from the patient beforehand. Before going in, avoid drugs that contain aspirin for several weeks prior to surgery to minimize excess bleeding. You may be required to take antibiotics to prevent infection. Depending on the doctor, you may be instructed to shampoo your hair the night before surgery.

For the procedure the surgeon will make incisions inside the hairline at the temple, then around the earlobe and behind the ear, ending at the scalp area. Excess skin is removed and sagging muscles and connective tissues are tightened. In some cases, fatty deposits may be removed from beneath the chin and neck. Incisions are closed with small sutures. The surgery may take up to 5 hours, depending on how many other facial procedures are being done in conjunction with the facelift.

There will be a lot of swelling afterwords, but after about two weeks the patient should notice a steady recovery beginning. Scarring fades quickly. In the time following surgery the patient should avoid the sun for several weeks after surgery. The main thing to remember is that the healing process takes time. It is gradual, and so the final results may not be noticeable for even half a year. Keep patient, and soon enough the positive results will become clear.
